Prayers for Protection During National Trauma

Prayers for Protection During National Trauma

Heavenly Father, we come to you in this moment of national tragedy and we ask that you surround those who are grieving with Psalm 34:18 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”  We make our petition to you Most High, Maker of the heavens and the earth, the Creator of all things, protect us by the blood of your Son, Jesus, from the wicked schemes of the enemy through this tragedy whether or not it was intentional.  We pray that it would not be used as a ritual sacrifice or way to gain power through the manipulation of emotions on a territorial scale.  We pray that the portals that are opened through the anguish would be covered in the blood of Jesus.

We declare in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth who came in the flesh, that all access points from this trauma be closed to human spirits, Nephilim, Nephilim Hosts, rulers, authorities, powers of this dark world, and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  We declare to the kingdom of darkness, in front of Jesus Christ our witness and advocator, that WE DO NOT CONSENT to your plans to further enslave us through fear, worry, anxiety, terror, dread, and sorrow.

Jesus, we surrender our emotions, our thoughts, our behaviors to you.  We come into alignment with 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.  The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world.  On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

We give you all praise, Most High, for you reveal deep and hidden things; you know what lies in darkness, and light dwells with you (Daniel 2:22).  In your perfect timing, reveal any hidden agenda behind this tragic loss of life.  In your kindness, lead those who were responsible for these fatalities to repentance.  Jesus, we ask that you cleanse our land and waters of this bloodshed.  In your mighty name, Jesus, which has higher jurisdiction over the water gods, thwart their schemes and render them impotent just like you did with Baal in I Kings 18.  We thank you, Jesus, that you can take a tragedy like this and turn it for your good. We ask for your loving hands to surround all those who mourn; may they receive your comfort that touches the depths of their being. May it open their eyes to your unconditional love.  May this tragedy be turned into glory for your namesake.

In Jesus name, Amen.
